Job Vacancy For Information Technology Officer (IT Officer)

A financial institution in the Greater Accra Region is looking for an Information Technology Officer (IT Officer).

Role Summary

• Support the IT team in the implementation and maintenance of the IT systems to enhance operations and drive efficiently through the use of technology

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain IT systems
• Ensure that the needed IT tools and infrastructure are in place to meet business needs
• Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving software faults
• Perform software and hardware configurations
• Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
• Support the roll-out of new applications
• Develop software that achieves straight through processing of transactions (programmer)
• Manage Database (structured Query Language – SQL)

Qualification Required & Experience

• First Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or in a related discipline
• A professional certification is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years working experience in a similar role

Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge of banking operations in T24 and Bankmill softwares
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure
• Understanding of systems integration
• Knowledge of Network and systems Administration – Windows, Linux, Novell
• Knowledg of database systems
• Understanding of the Data Protection Act and other related legislation, standards and codes of practice in the industry
• Knowledge of information risk analysis / management
• Knowledge of IT security systems and latest developments in the field
• Ability to prioritize workload
• Attention to details
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent observation and analytical skills
